History

05/03/1998 purchase of property: no. 5 Nelson Palmer Avenue - The first time featured in Coast to Coast was in 2004/2005 issue. Coconut trees were planted and the business licence was also obtained in 2005. 01/11/2007 purchase of property next door, No 6 Dowling Lane Started immediate accommodation from the 1st of November 2007. October 2013 adjoining property No 4 Dowling Lane was purchased as camping ground. Unfortunately during Covid no. 5 Nelson Palmer Avenue where the business started was sold and now the property mainly operates on no. 6 Dowling Lane.

Warner Beach is rich in surf culture being slap bang in the middle of

numerous point breaks i.e. Scotburgh; Greenpoint; Widenham as well as Cave rock and Durban with its numerous piers

which back in the day hosted the Gunston 500, attracting many well-known international participants

followed by the Mr Price Pro and the Ballito Pro later on hosted North of Durban in Ballito. Warner Beach itself is

home to a popular surfing beach called Baggies Beach adjacent to

Pulpit that gets frequented by locals. Warner Beach/Baggies has produced its fair share of talented surfers in Frankie

Oberholzer, Koby Oberholzer, Gary Van Wieringen and Mike Roscoe. Michael and Gary having competed for South Africa

and Frankie having featured alongside numerous well-known surfers in Ripcurl’s

The Search, especially Tom Curren who we even had staying in the property at one point during a visit with Frank.
